Central Florida Hockey League

Preparations for the Central Florida Hockey League (CFHL) 2016 Spring Season for age divisions Squirt through Midget U16 and under are underway. To be eligible the applying team/organization must have had teams participating in the CFHL, FAHL, or SFHL during the 2016 season. Upon receipt of a minimum of four applications for teams in a USA Hockey youth hockey classification, a league division for that age will be established and guaranteed a 10 game season. The CFHL board has decided to not field Mite and Midget U18 divisions. Organizations may field teams and play scrimmages with other organizations but the CFHL will not be held accountable.

Games will begin the weekend of April 2nd and 3rd and conclude the weekend of June 4th and 5th. The CFHL board has decided to make the 5th and final week of play a playoff week. Based on how many teams are registered for that division the top teams will play for a championship and the lower teams will play consolation games.

All games will be played at the home arena of the participating organizations, on a two game per day, every other weekend format. Teams must play in the division they will play for the Fall of 16/17 season.

The cost for the 10-game season will be the following:
Squirts $3,110.00
Peewees $3,155.00
Bantams $3,235.00
Midget U16 $3,335.00

Cost includes a 10-game schedule, with games being 75-minute curfew games plus an ice resurface, referees, scorekeeper and administrative costs. A conference call will be scheduled, a week before the season starts with all the Spring CFHL team managers to go over all the new rules and what is expected of each team during the season.

You may register for “A” or “AA” with “AA” being the stronger. Providing enough teams register in each class an “AA” and/or “A” division will be made.

Applications for team registrations must be submitted on the enclosed application form, accompanied by a check for the entire season fees to the hockey director at the participating arena where your team practices.

Applications and checks MUST be received on or before Friday, March 18th, 2016 to be eligible for the spring season.

Thank you and good luck to all,
Al Nicole.
